- In February 2024, China exported vapesto Malaysia for approximately US$21.72 million, a month-on-month decrease of 28.16%, and a year-on-year decrease of 19.85%; the export volume was approximately 456 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 34.47%, and a year-on-year decrease of 18.23%.
- IMiracle is rumored to be considering acquiring shares of China Bolton or Huabao in order to seek a backdoor listing. In response, Huabao Co., Ltd. responded that the news was untrue and called on the market to treat the information with caution and subject it to the company’s public disclosure.
- In Germany, since April 1, the possession and consumption of cannabis has been legal for citizens over the age of 18, but this also includes restrictions on the amount of possession, location of use, etc., as well as increased penalties for transferring cannabis to persons under the age of 18,and other regulations.
- Russia has implemented new regulations since April 1, which will impose administrative penalties on those who produce and sell tobacco and related products without a license. Violators face a maximum fine of 1.5 million rubles ($16,200).
- A meeting of experts from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health warned that new tobacco products may aggravate tobacco dependence and health problems, and recommended banning their production, sales and advertising. Based on the opinions from the meeting, it is expected that relevant proposals for national management of new tobacco products will be put forward soon.
- The city of Evanston, Illinois, USA is the first to introduce a ban on flavored tobacco. The ordinance will take effect on April 1, 2024. Violators will face fines of $500 to $2,500 and may lose their tobacco license for repeated violations.
