- On June 6, the U.S. FDA announced that it would voluntarily withdraw its marketing denial orders (MDOs) issued to JUUL in June 2022. The revocation of MDOs is neither an authorization nor a rejection, nor does it indicate whether the application may be authorized or rejected. The revocation of MDOs restores the application to pending status, which will be subject to substantive review by the FDA.
- JUUL appreciated the FDA’s announcement that it had revoked its marketing denial orders (MDOs) issued in June 2022 to JUUL products. JUUL stated that some of JUUL’s products will continue to be sold on the market during the review period.
- In April 2024, China’s vapeexports to Poland were approximately US$12.69 million, a decrease of 3.45% month-on-month and a decrease of 19.54% year-on-year; the export volume was approximately 191 tons, an increase of 9.85% month-on-month and a decrease of 16.85% year-on-year.
- Seven stores in Lincolnshire, UK were closed for selling illegal tobacco and vapes. After surprise inspections by the British police and the Trading Standards Agency, its stores in Spaulding, Crowland and Holbeach were all ordered to close “for community safety.”
- Recently, a Brazilian health research institute conducted a survey on vapes, which showed that vapesare widely used by young people in Brazil. 89% of them have heard of vapes, 18% have used them, and 3% are still using them.
